Origins of the Group
We grew up together. As children we played little
league on Saturdays and football in the street until the
sun went down. We collected baseball cards together
and learned how to drive together. We grew up in the
same neighborhoods…the same town, attended the
same high school, and often talked of some day working
under the same roof. We didn’t know what that business
was exactly, but often naively made plans to some day
own a sports franchise together. We would start small
of course, and work our way up to acquiring the Los
Angeles Dodgers at some point. We did realize there
were probably one or two baby steps involved first.
These childhood friendships survived a lot in our early
years, but the true tests were about to surface in the
form of departures to college, marriage, starting
families, and diverging into various and unrelated
careers. Yet, through all those events we still talked
often and saw each other with regularity, and continued
to vow that we would one day own that sports franchise.
Up until summer of 2005, that dream of owning a sports
franchise had generally focused on a minor league
baseball franchise. But in June of that year we spent
part of a bachelor party weekend celebrating at the
races at Hollywood Park, and it was there (somewhat
under the influence I imagine) that we began to craft the
makings of Sandlot Racing, LLC. It’s not a baseball
team just yet, but it is an entity that we care deeply
about, have fun with, and work hard at to ensure
success!

Current Plans
Currently targeting the $12,500 to $40,000 claiming ranks on the Southern
California circuit.
